Dive, Fish & Aliens?!
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
Absolutely no wind & heavy down pours all week led up to another half day dive into Menpachi fishing adventure. The water was murky everywhere as we projected but what we didn’t project is us to come across... aliens?! Peacock Grouper - Invasive Fish of Hawaii
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
While you're out spearfishing on Hawaii reefs you'll take notice of this fish known as Roi, or Peacock Grouper. It is an invasive fish in Hawaiian Waters because it was introduced in the 1950s from French Polynesia to help boost fish stocks. Little did we know that instead of boosting the fish stocks it would eat over 150 small reef fish a year and cause severe damage to our fisheries. Do you part as a fisherman and spear-fisherman and help eliminate Roi from the reef. A little goes a long way. Heres a short educational video on Roi. Enjoy! Wetsuits,...
No Can Dive & Still Get Fish

I been out the water for about a month and the conditions finally lined up for a nice day but I had some rust to shake off let alone congested sinuses. Was lucky enough to score some fish to take home! Big School Of Invasive Fish Ta'ape - Scouting New Grounds On Murky Water Dive
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
Haven't gone in a couple of weeks and with the COVID-19 cases growing it was nice to hit the water. Although the spots was dirty or murky we searched around for clean water and hopes for fish. We stumbled across a huge school of Ta'ape, an invasive fish in Hawaiian Waters and I did some work taking them out while taking home some other better fish for dinner. Overall it was a nice to get back in the water and was able to take home some fish for dinner! Fish Magnet: ON!
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
It was one of those dives where everything came together. Capt. Joe, Ryan & I set out on the east side of Oahu on a nice day. No clouds, no winds and clean water. Apparently, my fish magnet was on and was just a little stronger than everybody elses, but we all managed to take home fish to eat. We all have our days that we are on fire and our slow days, it comes and goes. Maybe it was the new wetsuit that we are dropping soon... just maybe...
