Ulua Slob & Ono Sobs

The crew decided to dive out on the East Side of Oahu in hopes for some clean water and a lot of fish. The weather projected to be good, but that morning the winds had already picked up. Luckily we brought the poles because all the inside shallower spots were very murky. We went into deeper grounds where Ryan ran into a Ulua Slob and I sobbed as a 60+ Ono swims away from me. Bluewater Spearfishing

  Bluewater spearfishing can be the most boring type of spearfishing at times. Unlike reef diving where there is a lot more life swimming around and nice corals to look at. Blue water is all about patience and capitalizing on opportunity. We normally spearfish blue water less than 300ft of water. Other places we go deeper, a lot deeper!  Drop your flashers, drop some chum and sit and wait. Most times chumming you'll invite a few land lords (sharks) up your chum line.  As a kid I grew up surfing and fishing and didn't really get into spearfishing until right out of high school. Mainly I was dunking and whipping.
