Coming Out Of 3-Prong Retirement w/ Evolve Diving Pole Spear
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
When I first starting diving I only used three prong. It taught me patience and how to stalk and track fish. Like most of us, I started with a yellow fiberglass 3-prong from Walmart. There were way more misses then hits, but every hit felt so rewarding. Through time in the water I eventually purchased a gun which I used 99% of the time after that. Only till a few months ago I purchased an Evolve Diving 3-Prong I was stoked to give it a shot after all the great things I heard about this 3-Prong. I bought the collapsible 9ft...
Monofilament On Your Speargun
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
As you get better in spearfishing you'll move up from a three prong pole spear to a speargun. Proper maintenance on your speargun will result in keeping your gun shooting strong and accurate. One thing to always maintain is your monofilament line or shooting line on your gun. Having new mono on your gun allows your gun to shoot more smoothly with less friction or chances of getting caught on your trigger release or reel line anchor guide. Through many dives your mono will begin to have creases from normal wear and tear and from wrapping your line around the...
Taking drops before the drop. The beginning of Venture Wetsuits.

The first two suits we designed and released were the Roi & Ono wetsuit. The suits arrived a month or two before the official release so the Venture Crew went on a little dive trip for some suit testing, big fish & good times! We geared up, packed extra monofilament & shafts in search of some big game. I don't know about you, but before any dive I just can't sleep the night before. Especially knowing that the conditions are nice and that you never know what you'll encounter out in the water on any given dive. So we...
Hawaiian Goat Fish
Posted by Venture Wetsuits on
Some of the tastiest fish to eat in Hawaii is the goat fish. There's the Kumu (White Saddle goat fish), Moana Kali (Blue goat fish) and Munu (Doublebar goat fish). Each of which are fun to hunt and even better to eat. The preferred size to catch is in the 2 to 4 pound range. They get bigger, but very rare to find. Enjoy!
