When I first starting diving I only used three prong. It taught me patience and how to stalk and track fish. As you get better in spearfishing you'll move up from a three prong pole spear to a speargun. Proper maintenance on your speargun will result in keeping your gun shooting strong and accurate. One thing to always maintain is your monofilament line or shooting line on your gun. Having new mono on your gun allows your gun to shoot more smoothly with less friction or chances of getting caught on your trigger release or reel line anchor guide. Some of the tastiest fish to eat in Hawaii is the goat fish. There's the Kumu (White Saddle goat fish), Moana Kali (Blue goat fish) and Munu (Doublebar goat fish). Each of which are fun to hunt and even better to eat. The preferred size to catch is in the 2 to 4 pound range. They get bigger, but very rare to find. Enjoy!
